The Edward Piguet line consisted of Audemars Piguet’s rectangular watches, and was named after one of the two founders of the brand. While it’s not as well-known as the Royal Oak, the Edward Piguet is emblematic of AP during the neo-vintage era, from the mid-1980s to the early 2000s. This watch has a few features that aren’t common in APs, including a very traditionally-styled handset, small-seconds display, and applied Breguet numerals. The rectangular case is multifaceted and complex, and houses a manually-wound movement. It’s the ultimate antithesis of the Royal Oak – a cult-classic, untainted by hype or fashion. |
